Fool's End
Part 1 of the Lesson in Forever series
Lailani Grander is the girl who likes to skip to the end, never caring to savor the journey. But after her second brush with death, she's forced to confront the uncomfortable question:Why is she still alive? While her favorite thing to say is "nothing lasts forever," Lailani's struggling to understand how she survived what should have been her end… Again. At the kick-off party for The Reliving, someone takes the "Forever Young" theme too literally, and tries to make sure Lailani doesn't survive the night. Now she needs to know who wanted her gone, and why.In trying to make sense of her situation, flash memories begin to surface-forcing Lailani to focus on her need for control, her capacity for love, and the possible motives of those closest to her, making her doubt everything she thinks she knows. As suspicion grows and trust unravels, Lailani must decide whether the bonds she's always relied on are real, or if they've been altered by distance, time, and the secrets they all keep. Ashleigh Woodward has always been a creative. No matter the art form, it's likely that at some point in her life, she has tried-and possibly been good at-most morally acceptable things. She enjoys anything that assists in her escape from reality, because that's how she learned to cope with uncomfortable situations from a very young age. Ashleigh was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. So she's a Southern Belle, who only likes the idea of snow when she doesn't have to experience the cold.In her late 20s, Ashleigh was diagnosed with a rare disease, and told she didn't have long to live. She never subscribed to that thought process, though. While it took her a while to remove the self-doubt and insecurity, she's determined to live life on her own terms. As a business owner, a coach, and an eldest daughter, Ashleigh's need to make the world a better place, is stronger than anything. Venturing into the things she's only dreamed of doing before, her hope is to inspire others to be their best selves, spread more love, and to live in gratitude. Life is meant to be lived, so let it be beautiful.
