Under the Rock
by Graham Hamer
Part 1 of the Island Connection series
When Sean Legg, the island's Chief Minister is kidnapped, only a select few are made aware. Sean soon discovers that his captors are Islamic fundamentalists who plan to set up a terrorist training camp on the island.
Police constable Sarah Flemons and her dive buddy Penny Lomax, are enjoying an evening dive round the rocks of Peel Castle. They discover the entrance to a cave where they are met by another diver. Only Sarah survives the encounter, but she is taken captive in the same huge cavern under the rock where they are holding Sean.
Clemence Quirk and Elinore Kinrade, along with their black Labrador, Millie spot unusual activity within the castle grounds. Clem and Eli are not the sort of youngsters to let a thing like that pass. So when the dynamic duo discover an underground passage, their natural curiosity gets the better of them. That's when they stumble across their Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, Ken Stafford, formerly in the SAS brings in some of his former regiment friends with a cunning plan to free Sean Legg. Unfortunately, Sean's father-in-law, Nick Ferris, known for being nimble of foot when the police draw near, also becomes involved. It's all a recipe for an unforeseen ending.

Travellers
by Graham Hamer
Part 10 of the Island Connection series
While excavating on a construction site, an extraordinary and unrecognisable object is discovered buried in the rock. It looks like plastic, yet it had lain there while the sediments had formed into rock around it, nearly 400 million years ago. Even more unsettling for the inhabitants of the island is that the object emits a strange 'dark light' during the day, and glows red at night.
'The Pod' as the object becomes known, draws crowds from around the world. To the media, it is anything from an atomic bomb planted by Russia to the gathering of armies for the end of times battle between good and evil. Detective Chief Inspector Angus Slooth is charged with crowd control at the dig. To him, the pod is a pain in the chest, and one that will prove his downfall.
Meanwhile, Sparky, the life-partner of DI Sarah Flemons, is tasked with protecting the most obnoxious young lady he has ever had the misfortune to meet. But there's more to Jo Kennaugh than meets the eye. A lot more – as Sparky soon discovers – and it will eventually threaten both their lives.
While naked Wiccans run amok in the ancient Viking castle, and while local airheads, Elvis and Ozzie, are picking fights with the wrong people, DI Sarah Flemons knows something that she's not prepared to share. Not even with her best friend, Penny Chakyar. It's too important for sharing. Except, maybe, with a chosen few who are already bearers.
Sometimes humorous, frequently charming, often chilling, and always full of suspense, 'Travellers' is a powerful story that leads to a sobering conclusion about the future of planet earth. Don't miss it.
