Flats Junction

Proper Boston widow Jane Weber moves to the Dakota Territories under layers of lies to save her reputation. Stirring up controversy, Jane rooms with the last Blackfoot Sioux in town while navigating a mercurial friendship with the fiercely independent town grocer. In Flats Junction, though, everyone has an untold story. Battling her shortcomings, falsehoods, and swallowing her inherent curiosity, Jane must choose how she will truly reinvent herself, and where she belongs.

Flats Junction is a town torn in half as the war between the two doctors spills into everyday life. Businesses are forced to choose sides, as are the people who own them. Caught in the middle are Kate, Marie and Jane, each with their own ambitions and fears. Kate, postponing her wedding for political reasons, attempts to hold onto power as the newly elected Mayor, even as she faces her own death. Marie begins to lose the battle of her depression and deep changes within her family. Jane works alongside her doctor husband to find answers to the disease threatening people and livestock, which may also be the way to stop the terrible rift at the core of Flats Junction itself. The only way forward is to look back. Can Kate, Marie and Jane heal the wounds of the past in time to save their future?

In Flats Junction, sacrifices grow ever starker as the town begins to realize it faces an existential crisis on multiple fronts. Enigmatic storekeeper Kate has ambitions to become more powerful than her father, but to do so requires making deals with many devils to bring electricity and a hospital, perhaps to Flats Junction's detriment. Helena, the intrepid daughter of tinsmith Marie, wrestles with the confines of her gender as she tries to build her dressmaking shop, only to learn through terrifying ordeals that bucking tradition is not as simple as she hopes. And Jane, the doctor's wife, fights both her medical minded husband and the prejudices of the locals when she uses herbal medicine to fight a terrifying disease. Worse, an enemy from the doctor's past comes to upend the entire hierarchy of Flat's Junction - with Kate's unsuspecting blessing. Can the women of Flats Junction learn to fight together to save everything they've built, or will their inner demons destroy it all?
