I Think My Neighbour's a Mobster
by C. R. McCormack
Part 1 of the Dolan Syndicate series
A mafia romantic comedy, set in the fictional town of Racine, British Columbia. (Pronounced "Ruh-seen, in true Canadian fashion) Evelyn is convinced her luck is finally turning when she finds an apartment complex with crazy-low rent, despite the ample security the building has been beefed up with. Hopefully now's her chance to start over, without her ex constantly on her tail and ruining her life. One little hiccup, though? Her unfairly attractive neighbour seems entirely displeased to be sharing a floor with her. She only hopes her grandmother's recipe of chocolate chunk cookies will be enough to win him over and make across the hall from him not so tense. Carter has worked hard to make sure the apartment he chose for his personal haven in the territory his mother, the Head of the Dolan Syndicate, granted him years ago is set up exactly how he likes. He has full control over who moves in, their security measures, even who can visit and who's blacklisted So when the landlord approves a woman he's never met before to move in without asking him first, Carter is furious, and despite the landlord insisting they at least give her until spring, is determined to run her off. However, spring is months away, and the cookies she's brought him as a greeting gift smell really good... Charlotte McCormack lives in the middle of the woods with her cat, her garden and the hundreds of animals in the trees watching and wondering what on earth she's doing out in the middle of nowhere. She is finally prying out of her brain the stories that have been stuck in there for years and is eager for you to read them.

I Think I'm Playing for a Mobster
by C. R. McCormack
Part 2 of the Dolan Syndicate series
As the eldest daughter and Underboss of the Dolan Syndicate, the crime family that has the town of Racine, B.C under its control and protection, Riley Dolan is a very powerful, ambitious woman who always goes after whatever she wants. So it makes sense to her to buy her favourite hockey team, the Racine Reapers, once she learns of plans to move them to another city. Frustratingly, the purchase goes through just as her husband (ex-husband, technically, despite her not bothering with the paperwork) appears to have sided with a rival family in the city to try and take the Dolans down at last. Add in that she gets crazy butterflies every time she's around Dominic Veras, the goalie for the Reapers, and Riley has a very full plate. She now has to balance hunting her husband, fending off the multiple hitmen the Mackey family keeps sending, and getting a professional hockey team that has every reason to distrust her to the Stanley Cup. Dominic Veras finally achieved his dream of joining an official NHL team a few years ago, and it hasn't been quite as amazing as he was hoping. The team owner doesn't seem concerned with them winning so much as making sure his son is the center of attention. So when Dominic learns his team has been newly purchased, he's apprehensive but hopeful. That hope turns to joy and excitement when he learns it's Riley, the woman who's been going to every Reaper game held in Racine for the last two years. The one he runs to meet and speak with after each game. The one he has the world's biggest crush on. Now Dominic has to figure out how to deal with said crush, since Riley is now technically his boss. What's even more concerning than that, however, is how the rest of the team keeps grumbling about Riley and the mob. Causing Dominic to worry that the new arena, apartment complex, personal jet and fancy equipment she got for them all came at a very high cost. One the banker's daughter turned team owner might not be able to afford on her own, which has him worried she made a deal with some very dangerous people. Book Two of the Dolan Syndicate series.
