Cowboy Justice

Frank Justice, a hardened cop from Oakland, California, is now, and for the last 14 years lived on his acreage near the sleepy border town of Elgin, Arizona, just a few miles from Nogales. He works as a detective for the Nogales police department. Seems he's been observed by some state officials, and when he comes to work one morning, he is abruptly fired -- without ceremony. His boss tells him . . . on the Q.T. . . . that he's to go home and wait for a phone call. Things get interesting. He finds himself working for a "fourth estate" as it were --- as a member of the governor's secret task force, doing what he can to keep the Arizona-Mexican border free from the Cartel's activities: the flow of Fentanyl and three or four other opioids, plus women, children. The story is filled with humor, romance and hard-hitting action.

In a previous book, Cowboy Justice On The Border, Frank Justice was introduced as a tough ex-cop from Oakland, California. Now in his early forties, Frank owns a small ranch in the rural, wine growing country on the outskirts of Elgin, Arizona, very close to the Mexican border. Living on the edge of the border, Frank witnesses firsthand the violence, the traffickers, the smuggling of drugs and illegals coming across the border along the Babocomari River, the small river at the rear of his property. He loves fast cars, his dog Skye, and single malt scotch; has just enough chickens to call himself a gentleman rancher. As time passes, he is labeled "Cowboy" by a special person*. But he still needs enough coin to buy gas and scotch, so he hires on with the Nogales Police force as an investigative detective. Recognized as someone of high integrity and special skills, he catches the attention of higher powers within Arizona and is approached by a recruiter. Subsequently, Frank becomes part of an elite squad created to slow the rushing torrent of traffickers and cartel scum crossing into the state over the southern border. His recruiter, *Ramona Blanca, is an exceptional person. Frank decides to invite her home to meet the folks: his hired hand, Jack, and Jack's wife, Julie; his Harco chickens; and Skye, his German shepherd mutt. Ramona moves in within a matter of weeks to everyone's delight. Now, a few months later, he calls her Mrs. Justice; she still calls him Cowboy. Turns out, trafficking and drug-running are ugly, ongoing problems, not just in Arizona, but in every state--and now, as a couple, they feel a shared obligation to follow the desperate cry for help wherever and whenever it presents. If those coming to our shores would kiss the ground and thank our Creator for a place of safety and the peaceful pursuit of happiness and productivity, our nation would truly stand as a beacon of hope! Unfortunately, the extract from Emma Lazarus' sonnet is overshadowed by the reality...not all those now flooding through our "golden door" come here to breathe free--they are here to usurp and ultimately destroy our precious way of life.
