A child's body has been found, drained of blood, after the eve of a Blood Moon. Assigned to find the killer, police detectives Bartholomew Jones and Helen Martin first uncover a secret which destroys Jones' marriage. Then they discover a secret cult of sanguinarians whose thirst for adrenochrome-rich blood has claimed victims in several neighboring communities.
