Alethea's Lament

Friends since childhood, Alethea and Eramaus find themselves embarking upon an adventure. But this is no tame childhood stroll in the rainforests of their youth: this is a journey of faith to the Holy City, for they have been called to serve their god, the Lord of Light. But Alethea is constantly called a Dark One, a child of Night, unworthy of becoming a mediki. Eramaus follows her to protect her, only to find himself falling in love. Will he have the strength necessary to deliver both of them to the Holy City in time to complete their initiate vows, or will Alethea's faith falter before they even get there?

Rent asunder by the prejudice of The Light, Eramaus and Alethea struggle to adapt to their new lives. Eramaus is marked a criminal for trying to protect Lady Alethea, deemed a false Bride of The Lord by those in power. Even as he labors to find purpose without his love, The Gods whisper of his redemption. Alethea is taken in by The Night to heal from the wounds given to as she fled The Light. Proclaimed an Honored Guest among the Night, a tradition few of them remember, she finds prejudice once more works against her. Will Eramaus snap out of his apathy in time to save those still loyal to Alethea's purpose? Will Alethea learn enough to understand how to unite The Night and The Light? Or will they both fail and watch war ignite?
