Tortilla Flat

Academy Award winner Spencer Tracy stars with John Garfield, Frank Morgan and Hedy Lamarr in John Steinbeck's classic story of a hot-headed fisherman who inherits a pair of houses and his freeloader friends who decide to move in--Tortilla Flat. In a small California fishing town, Danny (Garfield) is dragged kicking and screaming into becoming responsible when he inherits the houses. Meanwhile his friend Pilon (Tracy) schemes to first separate The Pirate (Morgan) from his life savings and to separate Danny from sexy cannery worker "Sweets" Ramirez (Lamarr)--then to get Danny and Sweets back together.
