About
Noble public servant, ex-boxer Johnny Cave (James Cagney), gets put into jeopardy by calling out corruption after he becomes the Chief Deputy of the New York Department of Weights and Measures. True to noir, Great Guy serves a healthy dose of crime, blackmail, and romantic intrigue, and is one of two films Cagney made with Grand National Films during his temporary split from Warner Brothers.
