Dolli Levi is a crafty turn-of-the-century marriage broker who's determined to land a wealthy client... for herself! Sound familiar? It should, because the laugh-packed story of The Matchmaker later became the renowned musical comedy Hello Dolly! Shirley Booth, Shirley MacLaine, Paul Ford, Anthony Perkins and Robert Morse star in this delightful romp. They play lovers young and old, dreamy and practical, marriage and money-minded, who leap in and out of Cupid's range. Based on Thornton Wilder's successful Broadway play, The Matchmaker "welds authentic charm and nostalgia into a winning frolic"(The New York Times).
