In this a gleefully macabre tale, Waldo Trumbull (Vincent Price) is a lazy, unscrupulous and perpetually inebriated undertaker who is running his senile father-in-law's (Boris Karloff) mortuary business...well, into the ground. Facing a mound of debt and a relentless landlord (Basil Rathbone), who is threatening to evict him, Trumbull and his reluctant assistant Felix Gillie (Peter Lorre), devise a wicked plan to make death pay...by speeding up the demise of their unsuspecting customers!
