Coffee And Cigarettes

Jim Jarmusch started Coffee & Cigarettes in 1986 with a six-minute improvised caprice starring Steven Wright and Roberto Benigni. Two guys meet in a coffee bar to sip, smoke and chat. Jarmusch has continued the series over the years, enlisting an eclectic group of friends, colleagues and actors from his feature films. The pieces feature Steve Buscemi, Joie Lee and Cinque Lee, Iggy Pop and Tom Waits among others and are connected by the use of black-and-white stock shot by a series of stellar cinematographers.
