Too many military members spend years serving with discipline and commitment-yet miss out on powerful financial opportunities simply because no one clearly explained how the system works. The tools for building wealth are already available through military pay structures, retirement systems, and investment vehicles like the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). But without clear guidance, those opportunities are often underused or misunderstood.
In Your Pay: Navigate Your Military Benefits and Take What's Yours, retired Army Sergeant Major John Collins draws on nearly three decades of service-most of it in special operations-to break down complex financial topics into straightforward, practical guidance designed specifically for the military community.
This book is not written for seasoned investors. It is written for service members who want clarity, confidence, and a plan.
Inside, you'll learn:
• How military pay and benefits can become powerful long-term wealth-building tools • How the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) actually works-and how to use it effectively • The real impact of compound interest over a 20-30 year career • Common financial mistakes military members make-and how to avoid them • How to build a simple, disciplined investment strategy without Wall Street jargon • How small, consistent decisions today can create financial stability and even generational wealth • How to think long term about retirement, transitions, and life after service
You do not need to be a financial expert to build wealth. You need knowledge, time, and the discipline you already practice every day.
Your Pay will help you stop leaving money on the table-and start building the future you've earned.
