This steamy historical romance takes place during the waning days of the Civil War and is about a young Southern widow who rescues a Yankee soldier from the Mississippi after the steamboat he was on explodes. She brings him home to nurse, but as his condition worsens, takes him to a hospital in Memphis where she falls in love with a surgeon. She finds herself attracted to both men equally, but knows that she must choose only one. Louise Hathaway is a pen name of a husband and wife writing team.
