"This book tells the story of a child's first Little League game and their struggle with self-esteem. The main team has bright orange jerseys, and their rivals wear blue hats. Both boys and girls play on the team. The main character is never named or gendered but is masculine-coded with short hair. Sentences are short and written in the present tense. Short sentences are often coupled on the page, laid out like a rhyming book, but this one doesn't rhyme. It ends with a cliche message about teamwork, though the story is ultimately about individual perseverance. VERDICT Despite the capricious teamwork moral, a realistic baseball story is a welcome addition to any collection."
