About

The Pre-Adamic Age, the age of the angels, demons, cave men and dinosaur. REALLY?!
The Genesis Gap theory, also referred to as the Reconstruction Theory or Pre-Adamic Creation, posits a substantial temporal gap between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. This theory suggests that an ancient creation occurred, followed by a subsequent restoration of the earth prior to the creation of humans. According to this doctrine, the initial verse is interpreted as the original creation of the universe, while the subsequent verses describe the preparation of the Earth for something greater. This interpretation implies an extensive pre-Adamic history and raises questions regarding evolution, ancient catastrophes, and biblical events such as Noah's flood and the existence of dinosaurs.
In Genesis 1:1 it is understood, within the boundaries of the theory, to be a time of the original creation of the universe. But verse 2 through to 2:1 is considering the restoration of the earth in preparation for the creation of man and subsequent events. The Genesis Gap philosophy is based therefore on a theory that considers the above quote and many other scriptural passages as biblical evidence for an extremely ancient creation and for cataclysmic events that took place, on an ancient earth, that predate Adam's creation, or in their arguments (pre-adamic history). Consequently, according to this theory there would be considerable expanses of time between these two verses of scripture. Therefore, the questions abound, did God use evolution to create the world, were there two great floods and what happened to the dinosaurs, did Noah really take them into the ark, does it really matter what a Christian believes, just to name a few? It follows then that the perfect Genesis for this book should be likewise:
"1) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2) Now the earth was (or became) formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters."
