The continuing story of Shep a domestic duck living at the lake with the mallard ducks. Shep is not an ordinary duck. He is a duck with a big heart. He really cares about his little foster family at the lake. He has fostered many baby ducklings. When baby ducklings are born, their mothers sometimes have a difficult time keeping them out of trouble. This is where Shep steps in to help. Patsy is from Canada. She writes children's books and poetry. When she is not writing she likes going for long walks and getting in touch with nature. It is usually on her walks that the characters for her next book are born. This series is about the animals I have rescued or adopted. And, how they lived in my home for a time; some recuperating from their injuries, and others just needing some extra help to make it back to their home in the wild. There are eight books in this series. I am still helping animals whose stories may not make it into books. But, they are just as special. I would like everyone to have respect and compassion for animals. It is especially important to teach our children to respect them, and all of nature. Reading these books to your children is a good way to teach them the importance of respecting our wild friends and our pets.
