Can we honestly learn to overcome the resistance that seems to be tearing so many of us apart these days? As colleagues, friends, family, and community members all struggle to talk with one another-this idea can start to feel impossible. But the answer is "yes, we can learn to overcome the resistance between us-if we are willing to put in the work."
Drawing on the metaphor and inspiration from the river, RiverLogic maps the needed skills to live with more presence, resilience and adaptability in our challenging world. We learn how to move beyond our rigidity and righteousness and to create more openness and flexibility in all of our conversational spaces and leadership.
RiverLogic is ultimately a book about mindful communication. Blending personal stories with recent studies in neuroscience, emotional intelligence, and mindfulness, this is a modern toolkit for navigating our turbulent times-and our strong emotions. Here you will learn to:
• Draw people out • Deepen your ability to be present • Build bridges across differences without letting go of your core values • Listen to learn and help others discover things they didn't know they knew • Recognize and interrupt unhealthy communication patterns
Drawing from her extensive training in Organization Development, Emotional Intelligence Coaching, Conflict Transformation and Buddhism, Blanc offers insight and practical approaches through the dark waters of misunderstanding and shares how we can create more ease and flow between us. This book is an invitation to join a growing group of those who wish to learn how to build deeper connections and discover our commonalities-even across wide differences.
This book is designed for anyone wishing to deepen their communication, relationship, and conflict skills-whether leaders, aspiring leaders, coaches, change makers or truly anyone who wishes to become more self-aware, courageous, and open.
