Retired homicide detective Derek Overton is haunted by failures of the criminal justice system to consistently deliver adequate punishments to fit the crimes. Relying on his professional skills to avoid leaving evidence, he develops a plan, assisted by four recruits, to apply punishment to wrongdoers who have not been sufficiently held to account by the cops and courts. Also in his sights are those who commit violence against women and are not made to pay for their behavior. Will he and his associates escape detection and continue their illegal, but in their minds, righteous activity? Will they avoid arrest and prosecution? As they pursue each increasingly risky operation, threats begin piling up to menace their venture. You will regard the criminal justice system in a unique way after reading this tale.
