Medisa Menaal has always believed that nothing could be worse than the life she's endured. After years of struggling, she's finally ready to take control of her future, starting with a job that promises to bring the financial stability, the freedom, she's longed for. Accepting a role at Aros, Medisa is paired with the enigmatic and intense Kade, whose reputation is matched only by the mysterious aura that surrounds him. One minute he's charming and witty, the next he's all business and unreasonable. One day he's a drunken mess, crossing boundaries, forgetting his place, the next he's offering heartfelt apologies, homemade meals and some fun.
Medisa is unfazed by Kade's erratic behaviour. Compared to her past struggles, his mood swings seem trivial. She embraces her new role with a carefree attitude, convinced that nothing can be worse than what she's already been through.
However, her curiosity about Kade becomes intense, pulling her deep into a web of intrigue and complexity. She revels in the thrill of the unknown, dismissing any warnings and downplaying the risks. But as secrets unravel and true natures come to light, Medisa realises her nonchalant attitude might have been a grave mistake.
If you choose to read this book first, you are choosing to read her point of view first. Her side of the story.
