In Between the Games

In the frozen seclusion of the Kakusei HQ, a heavy snowstorm has forced its volatile residents indoors, but the cold outside is nothing compared to the heat rising within. While a simple game of chess between the battle-hardened Niko and the deranged Tsukasa threatens to devolve into a full-scale brawl over "illegal maneuvers" and imaginary rules, Dr Kakusei has a more delicate mission in mind.An upcoming executive trip requires the presence of all five core members, but the enigmatic Rasa (a "Quantum Mage" with a fondness for candy and cryptic ramblings about divine gates) refuses to leave the Arctic. The task of convincing her falls to Bou, the group's resident psychologist and "slave", who must navigate a shopping trip funded by the corporation's bottomless black-market bank accounts.
