Australia. December, 1861 A series of gruesome murders has left the police baffled, and with no leads, the tension reaches boiling point. Only Inspector James Walsh knows the key to solving the case lies with his former colleague-now a convicted criminal-Henry Hobbs. Hobbs, however, is now a shadow of his former self. Haunted by grief and the demons of his past, the weight of the investigation drives him deeper into a spiral of recklessness and despair. As the murder spree continues, Hobbs finds himself entangled in a conspiracy far darker and more sinister than anything he could have ever imagined. Yet, in order to stop the killings, he must first find peace within himself-or risk being consumed by the very darkness he's trying to stop.
