First Love, Second Choices Poems by U. Piñeiro In First Love, Second Choices, U. Piñeiro invites readers into a tender, often haunting landscape of memory, desire, and quiet reckoning. With lyrical precision and emotional clarity, these poems trace the silhouettes of people we once knew, the words we almost said, and the moments that slip between first chances and what follows after. Navigating themes of intimacy, regret, and resilience, Piñeiro's voice is intimate yet restrained, offering no easy answers-only the enduring ache of love in its many imperfect forms. Whether speaking from the aftermath of a relationship or the hush of a half-remembered evening, each poem lingers with the grace of something unfinished. First Love, Second Choices is a poignant meditation on how we carry the weight of the past while moving-sometimes haltingly-toward something like forgiveness.
