All Ezequiel 'Zeke' Hawthorn ever wanted was to graduate from Top Scale Academy and become one of the famed dragon Guardians of Cadia. But, after a sudden emergency search and rescue mission drops a beautiful, but terrified human woman into his company, he finds that perhaps there is something else he wants just as bad. But, her arrival in Cadia was under suspicious circumstances, and those in charge have ruled, she isn't allowed to stay.

Amber Klose was a leading structural engineer for a petroleum company. Working on their newest multi-billion-dollar pipeline, she was filling in for a sick coworker when she went out to the construction site to see the newest progress. But once there, she realizes that somewhere along the line things have gone well off course. Literally. The pipeline isn't, where it should be. It's gone inside Cadia, the shifter territory that humans are barred from entering!

Betrayed and set upon by enemies they know, and some that come as a surprise, the pair must use all of their intelligence and newfound dragon powers to protect each other, unravel the mystery behind the pipeline intrusion, and emerge alive. Is the challenge too much for the mates, or will their willingness to do whatever it takes for each other prove to be just what they need to win?
