Equipped for Battle is a nine-week Bible study guide designed for both individuals and small groups, focusing on the whole armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:10-18. The book opens with a sobering reminder that every genuine follower of Jesus Christ is engaged in a real spiritual war-not against people or political movements, but against the devil and his schemes. Drawing from the messages to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3, the study first reveals how Satan attacks local churches by cooling their love for Christ, introducing compromise, tolerating sin, fostering dead religion, and producing lukewarm faith. Each of the following lessons then unpacks a specific piece of the Roman soldier's armor as a metaphor for spiritual truth and protection: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit (the Word of God). The final lesson brings all the pieces together with practical encouragement to stand firm, pray continually, and grow in spiritual maturity. Every session includes key Scripture passages, discussion questions, personal reflection prompts, group activities, memory verses, and prayer focuses. The book emphasizes that believers fight from victory-not for victory-because Christ has already won. By the end of the nine weeks, readers are equipped to recognize the enemy's tactics, put on their spiritual armor daily, and stand confidently in the Lord's power.
