When international publishing supremo Jamie Gallagher is fired at the age of forty-six, he decides to take a long, hard look at his life. Can the reasons for the booze, the cynicism and the fact that his wife and children don't talk to him be found in his past? So he sets off on a road to nowhere - the roadtrip of his life. And he's looking for reasons to be cheerful.
David Grant's novel, soundtracked by the music a generation will never forget, is a hilarious journey through the haze of one man's memory.
