From Earth to the Moon is the first written history of space exploration. It was published in 1865 and presents, surprisingly, accurate scientific conjecture. When bored war veterans Baltimore Gun Club members decide to embark on a project to shoot the moon, the race begins to raise money, overcome engineering challenges and convince detractors they are not Lunatics.
