Engel authored two books-Building Stairs and Carpentry Complete-both published by The Taunton Press. Known for his practical expertise and generous spirit, he also demonstrated carpentry techniques at trade shows and was an early advocate for online builder communities. He passed away in 2022 while mountain biking with friends, doing something he loved
