Animals Being Colors: An ABC Collection of Animals and Colors is a vibrant ABC book designed by Michael to introduce young readers to a world of hues through animals. Inspired by a memorable moment from his own parenting experience, the book features 130 unique colors, each paired with an animal that embodies its name. The concept grew from Michael's years of teaching color and light, noticing that many children had limited color vocabulary.
The idea was sparked by a mauve-colored moose in his child's crib mobile, prompting the question: Why don't kids know colors like heliotrope or celadon? This playful inspiration led to Animals Being Colors, offering a fun and accessible way to expand children's color knowledge. From the familiar to the lesser-known, each page introduces animals like a "turquoise turkey" or "vermillion vicuna" alongside vibrant colors that ignite curiosity and broaden color awareness.
This delightful book blends learning and creativity, encouraging children to recognize, name, and appreciate colors, while fostering a deeper understanding of the colorful world around them. Perfect for young readers, Animals Being Colors is a timeless resource for expanding color vocabulary and exploring the animals that inspire it.
