When a routine operation crosses an invisible political boundary, control collapses faster than anyone is willing to admit.Cut off from clear authority and operating under competing directives, a field operative is forced to make decisions without confirmation, backup, or margin for error. Every attempt to contain the situation only escalates the stakes, drawing attention from governments that prefer deniability over responsibility. As jurisdiction fractures and consequences multiply, survival depends not on firepower or loyalty, but judgment-knowing when obedience becomes a liability, and when aborting the mission may be the only way to prevent an international incident.Abort Condition is a hard-edged political-military thriller about decision-making under pressure, where the most dangerous moment is not pulling the trigger, but choosing whether to stand down when no outcome is clean. James Fedos is a former federal program manager with experience in high-pressure government operations, aviation environments, and decision-making where failure carries real consequences. His fiction focuses on authority under stress, systems that break quietly, and the human cost of procedural collapse. He writes political-military thrillers and historical fiction grounded in realism, discipline, and consequence rather than spectacle.
