In the aftermath of the 1340s bubonic plague, Zeo Island becomes a refuge for the afflicted, who miraculously find healing and, unbeknownst to them, a touch of magic. This phenomenon elevates the island's status, but also leads to years of ostracism. Four centuries later, the island's existence is threatened by the prophecy of the ancient texts, which foretell its downfall. The Imbi Kingdom, Zeo Island's powerful neighbor, has long plotted against the island's unorthodox ways. The island's fate hinges on Ake, the Chosen One, and his trainer Elder Ozi, the Watcher.
