About

Get outside and get ahead with this handy, helpful garden planner.

When should I sow my sweet peas? How can I keep my roses blooming for longer? What can I do to add winter color to my borders?

Your Flower Year is the book every fan of florals should have as they embark on a new year of planning, sowing, planting, and deadheading. This easy-to-use guide is packed with essential tasks and top tips for every month of the year, with detailed information on key flowering plants.

Discover which plants will flower each month, and mark the progression of the seasons with a dedicated note section, so you can record your flowering times and make plans to ensure seasonal interest next year.

With beautiful illustrations to accompany each month, Your Flower Year is a must-have resource for all gardeners – whether you're looking for a handy at-a-glance guide for yourself or a gift for a green-fingered loved one. Phil Clayton completed a horticulture degree at Wye College in Kent before heading to the RHS Garden Wisley as a student. In 2002 he joined the RHS's The Garden magazine, through which he met many of the UK's leading plant experts and visited the country's great gardens and plant collections. In 2004 he was named Journalist of the Year by the Garden Media Guild. By 2006 he'd started work on his own urban plot in Peterborough, now overflowing with exciting plants. In 2016 he became Deputy Editor of The Garden, from 2022 he began a freelance writing career. He has authored A Plant for Every Day of the Year (2022) and Grow Roses (2024) for DK as well as contributing to RHS Gardens of Great Britain & Ireland (2025).
