A refreshingly new approach to learning how to get a job.
It's a dog-eat-dog world when it comes to finding work. Steven Hirsch, PhD, has assembled a collection of twenty-one modern-day animal fables to both entertain and illustrate tips and tricks to excelling at your job search.
Work Fur Hire has something for everyone, from the gray-haired veteran to the my-first-job greenhorn. Each chapter includes deep insights into the hiring practices of the United States and an engaging activity to help reinforce what was discussed.
In this book, you'll learn about:
• Time-saving methods for using job boards
• How to build a resume
• Preparing for an interview
• Things to consider when reading through your job offer
• How to cope with the soul-crushing process we call "getting a job."
...and much more.
Edwin the black-tailed jackrabbit, the narrator of the collection, shares useful advice through short stories about animal people looking for work. In this book, you will find a rich collection of genres, including slice-of-life, drama, comedy, light romance, horror, and dystopian. Each story involves a diverse cast of characters not only in their species (e.g., wolf, otter, ostrich) but also age, gender identity, sexual orientation, and/or how their unique paws require the use of a special keyboard (i.e., job accommodation).
This book was written to help you be quick, efficient, and successful with landing your dream job.
