About

The short fiction section, also known as The House, is a collection of three short stories that explore relationships with others. In "Family Ties", King Negasi and his daughter must reconcile their rocky past and focus on a better way to move forward with each other in order to save themselves and the future of a country. "The Room" reveals the power struggle that can occur in a marriage when Mauve uses disturbing news to her advantage, and "Pinky Promise" brings a light to what a little compromise can do for a blooming love when Dee takes a chance on Steve. The poetry section, also known as The Home, is a collection of two poems that examine the relationship we have with ourselves. In, "In the Shadows, A Phoenix is Reborn," the subject must rediscover who they are without the guide of others' opinions. "Change Course" is a spiritual warning for us to be more aware of the destruction we cause externally because like poison, it affects us internally just as much, if not more. Mykael Roland is a social justice, drama, romance, and fantasy screenwriter, author, and poet, as well as a script supervisor and an all around wordsmith. She is earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Full Sail University and exercises her skills as a wide-ranging freelance writer. Mykael continues to sharpen her words with the blades of many writing mediums. Whether creative or business focused, her ever adaptable services continue to grow with her clientele and exploits. She continues to build her portfolio and experience with various independent production, media, and correspondingly diverse companies and individuals on the East coast. In an effort to change the way things are in place of what they could be, she often inserts her perspective on how we could be living life into her works. Mykael enjoys Bollywood/Tollywood films and hopes to one day apply her universal love by molding her heritage and multicultural upbringing with her love of South Asian cultures, specifically, and all cultures, generally, creating a whole new unforeseen genre of film and television.
