It's 1993 and parading on Alex Post's yacht in a little black dress is out of character for middle school teacher Samantha Wilde. But ex-boyfriend and Organized Crime Task Force Detective Dan Anguilo needs her to be his undercover girlfriend for just one night. Once the FBI's informant, Code name the Baron, shows up, Samantha's crazy role will be over. But the Baron mysteriously disappears, and Samantha is stuck in her undercover role. Now crucial to the Task Force's investigation, Samantha is an amateur among professionals, drawn deeper and deeper into the deadly world of the La Sombra del Jaguar drug cartel. To Task Force Attorney Stuart Birkwell, Samantha is an unfortunate consequence of his botched plan. To the Surveillance Squad she's BD, the Baby Doll. But to burned-out Detective Bobby Washington she's smart and a breath of fresh air. When the government's investigation takes one track, Samantha and Bobby follow their own. Together they discover the truth behind the Baron's disappearance. But can they convince the Task Force in time to save Samantha's life? In the fiery climax, Samantha triumphs for the Task Force and even finds love in an unexpected place. Can she return to the classroom or does a more exciting career await her as an FBI Agent?
