Hafiz Sheriff is a chartered accountant by profession and a seeker by nature. Over the course of his career as CEO in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong, he has championed the value of perseverance, self-awareness, and quiet leadership. His deep reflections on work, meaning, and personal growth have been shaped not just by boardrooms and factory floors, but by decades of observing life with curiosity and care. Why Work Hard? is both a memoir and a meditation-a reminder that fulfilment lies not in ease, but in the honest pursuit of one's potential. Hafiz lives in Colombo with his wife, also a chartered accountant, and is the proud father of two.
