Some places do not forget. Some graves are not empty.
Sixteen-year-old Becca should be worrying about school, friends, and everything that comes with growing up. Instead, something impossible has begun reaching into her life. Strange visions, unexplained disturbances, and a growing sense that she is being watched become increasingly difficult to dismiss. What begins as fear soon points toward something darker, something connected to the past and unwilling to remain buried.
Sam knows better than most that the world contains things people would rather pretend do not exist. Fiercely protective and unwilling to back down when someone she loves is threatened, she refuses to accept easy explanations for what is happening to Becca.
Bruce St. Clair has spent years studying the paranormal, searching for answers in the uneasy territory where reason, belief, and the unexplained collide. When his path crosses Sam's, the two are drawn into a mystery surrounding an old house, a cemetery, a family marked by tragedy, and a gnarled oak standing watch over secrets that have waited years to be uncovered.
As the disturbances grow more dangerous, the boundary between the living and the dead begins to fracture. Sam and Bruce must separate truth from fear and uncover what happened before the past reaches fully into the present. Because beneath the roots, graves, and memories surrounding them lies a truth someone tried desperately to bury.
And some things refuse to stay buried.
Where the Oak Watches is a supernatural horror novel blending paranormal investigation, ghostly encounters, psychological tension, family secrets, dark humor, and characters whose relationships matter as much as the horrors confronting them. It is a story about the scars left by the past, the bonds that make people willing to face the impossible for one another, and what can happen when the dead finally find someone willing to listen.
