Two souls meet during a chance layover in Madrid, only to return to their separate lives on opposite sides of the world. David, a Spanish winemaker, and Melanie, a sales representative in Hawaii, are drawn together by an intense attraction and a shared love of wine. But emotions, language barriers, and cultural differences keep them apart-until one handwritten letter changes everything. What follows is a love story shaped by humor and heartbreak, sacrifice and resilience. Woven through are the invisible forces that conspire to bring two souls together, the pain of blind devotion, the weight of hardship and loss, and, ultimately, the quiet strength found in faith. Born and raised in Ohio, stretched by her years in Hawaii, and rooted now in Rioja Alavesa, Spain, Melanie Hickman is a vigneron, biodynamic farmer, beekeeper, and mother of two. A perpetual dreamer, she tends vineyards, bees, and the land with a regenerative spirit - guided by her love of nature, laughter, and kindness, and by a belief in simple living, resilience, and the beauty that comes from tending both the land and the soul.
