About
Her voice doesn't rush.
It rises.
Nia has a stutter. Her words bounce, pause, and twist-especially when the world moves too fast. At home, her voice sings, jokes, and tells stories to her stuffed turtle. At school, it hides behind silence and side-eyes. But when a school-wide Speech Showcase is announced, Nia faces the mic, the spotlight, and her biggest question yet: will she stay invisible, or let her voice rise, bounce and all?
Told with rhythm, courage, and unapologetic heart, Where My Words Begin is a lyrical middle-grade novel about speaking up, owning your rhythm, and learning that different doesn't mean broken-it means brave.
✨ Perfect for fans of The Poet X, Starfish, and Roll With It
✨ Features slam poetry, fierce friendships, and the power of voice
✨ Includes poems from Nia's notebook and a sneak peek at Book Two: Where My Voice Grows
Let your voice do what it came to do.
