Firefighters remember their initial training-how in every class or drill the instructors emphasized the dangers. Somehow, the risks seemed worth it then. After all, firefighters help people caught in bad situations. Jeff Keene II heard those warnings and still answered the call, but early in his career he suffered a terrible injury. In When the Other Boot Drops, he gives us an honest account of the emotional and mental trauma that followed. This is a solid, comfort-filled reference for victims of trauma (and their family members and friends, as well).
