Love conquers all, at least, that's what Charlie's been told. But all love's done so far is make his life miserable. Day after day, Charlie dreams of climbing out of his pond and taking to the air, following his love through the skies on the wings of freedom. And night after night, Charlie returns to his muddy pond, doomed to swim in murky waters forever. Or is he? Can a simple mud puppy's dreams come true? Time to go ask the Magic Man. Louisa is a professional writer living in northern California with husband, son, and a slew of critters, both domestic and wild. The family has been off the grid for over twenty years and keeps their carbon footprint small by doing without frig and water heater. Besides writing and caring for critters, both two-legged and four-legged, Louisa is the proud mama of a host of other little beings, namely veggies and flowers, who live in their 8'x16' greenhouse. Springs fills the air with flowers and song while frogs leap merrily underfoot. Life is sweet!
