• BOOK THREE OF THE TIME KEEPER'S SAGA The simulation's only flaw was making them real.
Otto wakes up on a sandstone tower with no memory, a backpack of cryptic tools, and a bottomless abyss surrounding him. Somewhere across the towers, Deacon wakes up to the same impossible landscape-and promptly falls off. What neither of them knows is that they aren't really there at all. A few wires and screens away, at the National Institute of Human Research and Development, Dr. Benji is running the most ambitious simulation in human history-and her new intern, Lisa, is about to stumble into the middle of it. What starts as a quirky government job becomes something stranger, more dangerous, and far more personal than either woman bargained for, as the lines between the simulated and the real begin to blur in ways no one anticipated. What We Thought Was True rockets the Time Keeper's Saga into its boldest territory yet, threading together artificial consciousness, rogue intelligence, and the question that quietly haunts every page: if the life you're living isn't the one you were born into-does that make it any less yours? With the wit and momentum fans of the series have come to expect, Book Three pushes the characters toward a threshold they can't uncross-and a new existence waiting on the other side. The towers were only the beginning.
