About
Walking Backwards: What if the way forward... is behind you?
Iyese, a London-based barrister, Royal Marine veteran, and mother, travelled to Nigeria after her divorce, initially seeking clarity. What began as a search for self-awareness quickly turned into an exploration of identity, heritage, and forgotten traditions that awakened her soul.
As she encounters the turbulent currents of her homeland, she becomes entangled in Baba Sidi's mysterious life of espionage, violence, and revenge. This plunged her into a world where secrets obscure the boundaries between loyalty, politics, and betrayal.
Guided by a mysterious gift from her grandmother and the evocative wisdom rooted in her Irigwe heritage, Iyese enters a realm where the past and present merge, revealing once-buried matriarchal power, ancestral knowledge, and self-reflection.
As long-standing history resurfaces and loyalties are challenged, she faces a choice: to flee from her past or confront it head-on, reclaiming the voice, strength, and heritage of the silenced women.
