In today's health care landscape, health advocacy has emerged as a transformative force, essential for individuals and health care professionals alike. It serves as a catalyst for change, empowering individuals to take control of their health and inspiring health care professionals to deliver patient-centered care. For health care professionals, health advocacy is a call to action, challenging them to go beyond the traditional role of care providers and become advocates for their patients. This involves listening to patients' concerns, addressing their needs, and working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes. In Vows to Vision, Mary Lacyk shares her trailblazing journey from being a nun to becoming a pioneer in medical care and case management. "I wrote this book to share my deep passion for advocating for patients in the health care system," the author said. "Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and struggles patients face, and it has fueled my commitment to being their voice." Whether it is ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate care or advocating for their rights and preferences, readers will be equipped to make a positive difference in their lives with the guidance in this book.
