A quiet town. A deadly crash. A tragedy that should have ended with an arrest.
But it didn't.
When fifteen-year-old Joseph Rainz loses his mother in a horrific accident on the night of his birthday, the case appears open and shut. A reckless driver, a grieving family, and a community searching for answers.
For Detective Edward Notley, a disgraced former Cleveland investigator exiled to the small town of Perry, the tragedy is just another case, until the details refuse to add up. As Notley digs deeper, he uncovers connections that stretch far beyond a single fatal collision. Secrets hidden beneath the surface of a town built on faith and trust begin to emerge. Old wounds reopen, loyalties fracture, and a chain of events set in motion years earlier threatens to consume everyone caught in its path.
For Joseph, grief becomes obsession. For those responsible, the past refuses to stay buried. And for a town that believed evil only existed somewhere else, a storm is coming. A gripping blend of suspense, mystery, and psychological tension, Violent Disturbance explores how one violent act can unleash consequences no one sees coming. And how the search for justice can become as dangerous as the crime itself.
Some tragedies end with a funeral, but this one is only the beginning.
