When investigative journalist Scotland "Scotty" Nash returns home to Toronto after an international assignment, she expects nothing more than a quiet weekend and a chance to recover from weeks of travel. Instead, a chance meeting with her new neighbor, history professor Roman Brady, marks the beginning of a mystery that will challenge everything she believes about justice, truth, and the hidden forces shaping the modern world.
As violent crimes escalate across the city, seemingly unrelated incidents begin revealing disturbing patterns. A subway attack, organized criminal activity, unexplained disappearances, and whispers of secret organizations all point toward a conspiracy operating beneath everyday life. Driven by her passion for uncovering the truth, Scotty begins investigating, only to discover that every answer leads to even greater danger.
Joined by Roman, whose expertise in history, folklore, and ancient legends offers unexpected insight, Scotty follows a trail of hidden clues that stretches far beyond ordinary crime. Together they navigate deception, corruption, buried secrets, and moral dilemmas while confronting an unsettling question: What happens when the justice system can no longer protect the innocent?
