About

First in a series of books, Venus, Book 1: Coming Out of Your Shell and Loving Yourself More looks like a children's picture book, but it's for women.

The title is based on Botticelli's Birth of Venus painting, where the goddess of love is exiting her shell. This personal growth book prompts women to love and nurture themselves like no parent, teacher, or husband could ever do. In the hubbub of growing up and growing older, women have forgotten or never learned how to feather their own nests with self-love. Venus encourages women to be warm washcloths for their own foreheads.

This book is the proverbial oxygen mask that plops into your lap with a double-shot of whimsical artwork and photos. The story-poems in Venus include: Encountering witches in everyday life, singing out loud in a store while shopping, and melding your soul with someone precious who has passed on.

Venus, Book 1 reminds women that their superpowers have always been softness, kindness, and compassion. After centuries of masculine energy ruling the world, the time has come for women to use their superpowers-on themselves! The question is: Will this make the world a kinder, gentler place?
