Skep Rivers PI here. Most people think a PI tackles one heart-pounding dangerous case after another. The most heart-pounding thing I do happens when I'm working out at the gym.
But sometimes a weird, intriguing case comes along. Like the "Paradox Assassin Dolls Caper." My partner, Christy, says it's not a caper unless I tell the story from the criminals point of view. Technically, she's right. So, let's go with her title "Undercover Santa."
Two things make this case stand out. First, this happened at Christmas. Yeah, I know . . . Duh. Second, our clients hired us to catch the thieves who stole hundreds of Paradox Assassin Dolls.
I asked the same questions you're asking right now. Imagine the ugliest doll you can think of. Now, turn it into something that looks like a demon from hell. Your mind just created the Paradox Assassin Doll. Who would be crazy enough to steal these creepy dolls? Better yet, who would buy one? Pick up a copy of "Undercover Santa" and follow the twists and turns of this bizarre and perplexing short story.
