One bond. Two separate worlds. One incredible journey to recovery.
"Safe at Home" is the deeply moving opening installment of a four-part series chronicling a lifelong path of neurodiversity and triumph. Although they were born 15 months apart, brothers Anthony and Brandon share an unbreakable bond, yet they navigate entirely different realities. While big brother Anthony steps into a typically developing world, Brandon's path takes a profoundly challenging turn. Beginning their true intervention journey when Brandon was only five years and four months old, this groundbreaking multimedia memoir captures the beautiful, complex intersection of their early lives, exploring what happens when a family builds a bridge toward autism recovery.
What sets this book apart is its interactive design. Through embedded QR codes, readers don't just read about this amazing journey-they witness it unfold. The text provides a raw, honest look at the daily dynamics of a family reshaping itself around neurodiversity, explicitly contrasting Anthony's typical milestones with Brandon's clinical autism symptoms. In these foundational early chapters, you will witness Brandon trapped in his own world, characterized by a loss of eye contact, speech delays, sensory overloads, and repetitive behaviors.
But where the diagnosis ends, Brandon's fierce spirit and his family's dedication begin. The corresponding video evidence allows you to see the real-time progression of Brandon's interventions, dietary shifts, and milestones. You will watch the protective love of big brother Anthony in action, standing as a vital anchor as Brandon fights to find his footing and reclaim his skills. Before the series expands into the community, school years, and Brandon's eventual independence at age twenty-three, this first volume focuses entirely on the foundational battles won within the family walls. Written from the intimate perspective of a grandparent, "Safe at Home" provides a living blueprint of hope, showing what it truly means to navigate the early years of autism safely at home.
