Author biography:Aiden Santosa is an author and researcher who came of age between two worlds-Western science and Eastern spiritual tradition. Born in Bali to an American physician father and a Balinese mother, he absorbed early on both a rational view of the human being and a deep fascination with the inner energies and rhythms of life. After studying psychology in New Zealand, he worked as a practicing psychologist and lecturer in cognitive science. Following a period of burnout, anxiety, and a near-death experience during a surfing accident, he returned to Bali, where a personal crisis became the turning point of his life. He devoted the next two decades to studying psychology, neuropsychology, the subconscious, meditation, and consciousness-work that became the foundation of his writing on awareness and the energy of thought.
